Background
Palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC13 also named as HIP14L or DHHC13 is a 622 amino acid protein, which contains one DHHC-type zinc finger and six ANK repeats. ZDHHC13 localizes in the Golgi apparatus membrane and belongs to the DHHC palmitoyltransferase family. ZDHHC13 is a palmtoyltransferase for HD and GAD2, meanwhile it mediates Mg2+ transportation. ZDHHC13 exists as three alternative splicing isoforms. The molecular weight of isoform 2 is 51 kDa, but we often detected a 45-50kDa protein by western blot. |
